About me

Elle - Digital Artist/Illustrator - 2006

Hey there! I’m Michelle “Elle” Díaz — a digital artist and animation student based in Monterrey, Mexico. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, but I started taking art seriously around 2020, when storytelling through images became something I knew I wanted to pursue fully.I specialize in digital illustration, background design, and character-driven visuals, blending traditional and digital techniques. My work is heavily inspired by anime, comics, cartoons, and video games, with a focus on expressive color, emotional atmosphere, and stories that feel personal, soft, and a little bit magical. Before diving into animation, I earned an Associate’s Degree in Radiology and Medical Imaging and became a certified radiologic technologist — a background that still influences how I approach structure, detail, and visual clarity (and yes, I still get excited over X-rays and CT scans). During that time, I also explored web development, mobile game creation, and AI fundamentals through the Tecnolochicas program (2023), alongside continued training in drawing, comic art, and storytelling.I’m currently pursuing a degree in Animation and Digital Effects at UDEM, where I’ve been recognized as a top student since my first semester. I’ve worked as a concept artist and background artist on Afterlight, an animated short film by Bamboo Studios, worked as a background artist for an animated short film for Casa Cuna Conchita from the Hospital Conchita Muguerza and I’m currently directing my own animated short called Battle of the Batter, inspired by classic cooking video games and cupcake aesthetics 🩷.I’ve also completed an Associate’s Degree in Cartooning and Comic Arts at MACREL Escuela de Dibujo y Diseño, where I developed and published my comic HeartWare on Webtoon Canvas.Back in 2025, I participated in PARAC 8 (High Performance Program in Contemporary Art), presenting collaborative work in gallery exhibitions at Hinterland Galerie in Vienna (Independent Space Index 2025) and MARCO Museum in Monterrey.Outside of class and projects, I love sharing art and everyday moments on Instagram, listening to music, and deep-diving into anime (if you’re curious — Revue Starlight has my whole heart ✨ with many other shows).I’m passionate about creating emotionally engaging, meaningful experiences through art and animation, and I’m always open to learning, collaborating, and connecting through visual storytelling. Thanks for being here — I hope my work connects with you in some way ⋆。°✩
